Based on the rise of Transhumanism, the crowd based capitalism and some speculations from Raw Kuzweill. There will be a world, where the technology will be part of us, and it won’t let us disconnect our organic part.

HIPOCORTEX emerges in a future context as an medical prosthetic extension of the human anatomy, that works as a medical service for those who’re hyperconnected and its function is to isolate and disconnect the user from any type of technology implanted inside of us, so that your body and mind can isolate completely.
It let you have the natural rest that your body needs. This future has based its technology development under biomimicry(biomimetics) and its society ethics under Transhumanism. In this way form and function are resolved inspired by tissues and structures found in nature, developed through generative design programs (grasshopper) that also seek to generate a link between HIPOCORTEX and the user creating a material symbiosis between the proesthic and the user (emotional materials) but it also optimize mechanical functions such as flexibility and sound isolation variating the density of the internal structure, just like bones and muscles do.
The body is a complex organic machine, whose sensory organs(modules) capture information from our environment. It is a complex device whose modules inhibit the information of our environment and isolates the embodied technology. In this way each of the senses, has it’s own module that isolate the sense or avoid from other stimulus.
ISOLTION
Vision is avoided with darkness, sound is isolated with ANC (active noise control) technology, smell is calmed with aromatherapy and synesthesia, touch reacts to a soft material and textures and finally taste is reseted with pickled ginger during a ritual, which is know for its use on Japanese culture to reset the taste from one meal to another.
RITUAL
The device is set for a very distant future, so the introduction or usability of it arises from the observation of ancient rituals from different cultures. It is known, throughout history, that each society have generated different rituals to meet the needs of their contexts, one is disconnection an introspection. HIPOCÓRTEX follow the same need and speculates on a future ritual, thus the individuals of that future can escape and disconnect their senses to find the body and mental balance.
MATERIALS
Different materials were tested on small samples in order to probe the viability of fabrication SLA using PMMA and Polyjet TPU (TangoGrey FLX 950). The formal prototype was developed using FMD technology with PLA material. However, even that a big scale manufacturing of the device would require an optimization on additive manufacturing methods, such as SLA and SLS and Polyjet pringting, methods based on monomers and dust particles, in order to make it economically viable; it ispossible to fully develop and integrate HIPOCORTEX with the actual technology.
PRIZE
The approximate cost of one HIPOCORTEX device would be 354,7€, and economical estimationthat can variate depending on the suppliers choosed.
