SIDE TABLE

This side table, or stool, is made of a combination of leather and 6 mm thick birch plywood. Both materials are laser cut, joined in three separate parts and then assembled. The flexible leather works as a hinge for the stiff plywood parts, which form once folded in place the stiff and strong construction.A flat pack set, consisting of three ‘legs’ and six bolts, can be self- assembled. The combination of materials makes for an unexpected and durable product, which will age well overtime, and distances itself from any ‘throw away’ connotation laser cut products sometimes have. Different types and colors of leather can be used. Multiple products can be neatly combined into more elaborate shapes due to the hexagonal shape, or can be stacked to save space.
