OXYGEN COLLAR

Problem:
Almost all European city dwellers are exposed to pollutants at levels deemed unsafe by the World Health Organization (WHO) – more than 95 % are exposed to unsafe levels of some types. New annual report by European Environment Agency (EEA) reveals as many as nine in ten European city dwellers breathe air high in pollutants According to an analysis of data from almost 400 cities, air pollution remains the top environmental cause of premature death in urban Europe Heart disease and stroke are the most common causes (80 %) of death due to air pollution, followed by lung diseases and cancer. Globally, it causes some 1.3 million deaths in cities every year. Nearly a quarter of a million of these deaths are caused by lung cancer.

WHAT IF WE COULD MAXIMIZE THE OXYGEN WE TAKE, WITH THE HELP OF OUR WARNINGS?

TAKING ADVANTAGE OF ARTIFICIAL PHOTOSYNTHESIS PROCESS, I believe we can think of a wearing which can maximize the amount of oxygen in each breathe we take!

The ‘artificial leaf’ is a device that can harness sunlight to split water into hydrogen and oxygen

Without needing any external connections, is seen with some real leaves, which also convert the energy of sunlight directly into, storable chemical form.

The idea is to create a scarf which has some spaces to place a certain amount of artificial leaf in it, to give the user the opportunity to breathe more oxygen.

The product also creates hydrogen fuel which also, can be stored for further usages.

THE IDEA OF THE FORM

For the idea of the form, I didn’t want it to look like a mask to create a belief, that it’s more for a patient use. I wanted it to look gorgeous and interesting to wear.

so there might  be a question   :

Why is it open to the polluted air which we are escaping from?  Doesn’t it filter the air?

The answer is, it doesn’t filter the air. it doesn’t need!

its strategy is like when you go to an open-air garden, and at the exact moment you enter you feel you taking a fresher air, it actually doesn’t filter the polluted air of the city, It just feeds you more oxygen! This is exactly what “Oxygen Collar ” does!
